SpeedStream 6520 - what is RFC2684 in config ?

l0thar : Hi everyone,

Just got my DSL connection up and running - even before the offical date which was tomorrow. :)

Nice, i made a new wiring run from the entry point to the modem, filtered the rest of the house right at the entry point (2 filters cascaded) and it seems to be working well.

I have a question though - looking thru the modem's configuration pages, under Home Networking Options - 'Internet Connection', I see something new to me.

The PPPOE connection is working fine, but there is also a '2684' connection? Which I had never seen before.

I see two connections there :

2684(0) 0/35 - DOWN

2684(0) 0/35 BRG - UP (would it be a 'bridged connection'?)

I turned ON DHCP under the options for this, and it doesn't seem to have any result?

Thank you for any explanations on what this is - jsut curious. :)
