@rr.com

fast internet, 1 static ip, what are my options?

This forum is great! Just moved back to Austin and I telecommute to California.

Right now I have no landline and no cable, but assume I will have to get one or the other.

What is a reliable, fast, reasonably priced option for residential internet service in 78704?
I need a static ip because I have people dialing in.

I don't need a landline and I don't watch cable, but these seem to be necessary evils. Any input is appreciated.

I have AT&T HSI (aka SBC DSL). They have a "sticky static" plan, which gives you 5 IP addresses. (No plan with a single static.) I have a single dynamic IP address, but it doesn't change very often and I use dyndns.org for outside access.

"The Kinkster" for Governor! If you live in Texas, you know who he is. If you don't, then you can't vote for him anyway.
