Anyone wonder how HL2 would look like on that colossus display! And yes, it is optimize for gaming. That's pretty much the maximum size my desk would allow, and my head would have to be constantly turning, but who cares!! It's bigger than my TV, and 2 feet apart from my poor eyes.
Poll At at $2199 would you.. |

Edit: Why doesn't Dell ever list the monitors refresh rates? It's not listed under tech specs anyways... -- Correcting one "looser" at a time. |

11ms grey to grey.
What I want to know is why they couldnt have priced it at 1,999 to make it more competitive with Apples 30" monster. They sell it for $300.00 more, but free shipping. Add in shipping and Dells is pretty close to apples price. -- 118 characters left No images allowed Longer sig will not appear below short posts! Sorry, referrals in URLs are not allowed. |

Don't forget, Apple charges sales tax in most states as well, which ups the price. Also, Dell has coupons that lower the price quite often, something you don't see with Apple. Also, the specs of the Dell 30" are way better than the Apple 30". |

 | What specs are different between the two?
I honestly havent checked between the two other than the resolution.
I wont go buy response time, because every company has a different method of testing that. -- 118 characters left No images allowed Longer sig will not appear below short posts! Sorry, referrals in URLs are not allowed. |

But who wants to see anything at 2048x1536 on a 19" screen? Or better yes, who really cares? |

ObdHPremium join:2003-06-11 Litchfield Park, AZ | reply to vd853 we just picked up a 40" Sony XBR for $2564 at bestbuy... the guys that worked there were trying to keep us from buying it, apparently someone that worked there wanted it.... it was cheaper than the 32"! -- The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws. --Tacticus |

 | reply to vd853 These larger sizes are getting a bit ridiculous for desktop monitors... |
|
 | reply to vd853 I believe Dell recommends a 7800GTX for this LCD, so for me I will have to pay $2200 for the LCD and about $2000 for a new system build, I think I would rather spend that money on a 50" plasma" My 20" Viewsonic will hold me over for a long time |

Agreed, if you want TV sized...then what do u know..get a TV! monitors in my book should make up around 20-22inch. It is wide screen, and was designed with heavy multi-tasking in mind, or anything that requires a lot of windows. A low resolution TV just won't cut it. But I think something between 24-27in. would be enough. |
