too late

HP's offering isn't going to stand up. The Lenovo is amazing and since they are going to offer Verizon or Cingular it's going to be the top contender. I've also seen Dell's pre production model and it is terrible, the wireless doesn't even work because of the CDMA\EVDO interference.

What's the problem with Verizon BTW? I hate their voice but their unlimited EVDO is amazing, it's the live blood of our sales force.

I am confused by your "interference" statement. Would you care to explain your assertion?

From what we are able to gather on this laptop the issue is due to the fact that the two antennas are routed around the monitor right next to each other. It has caused the EVDO to work just fine, but for some reason our wireless is sporadic at best and usually will not connect at all, even when right below our access point antenna, the only thing we can attribute this to is either. A)dell cheaped out on their wireless again (previous model has no problems connecting) B) the new "pre-production" model's CDMA\EVDO is "playing well" correctly with the wireless
