| Intention to close this forum. Unless... Six months with only one post, by someone not even in an area served by ASI, means it's time to request closing this forum.
I'll wait a day or two for anyone to come up with either a valid reason to keep it open, or some other related SBC or ASI purpose to request a migration to. If someone does, I'll pass that on to site management, requesting a re-tasking rather than a closure.
If you have something you'd rather not say publicly, please send me an Instant/Private message. |

| The intent of the forum was to serve customers with ISPs that used ASI for transport.
Checking the link just above my avatar in the first post, or here, if you'd rather, you'll see there are quite a few of them.
If SBC only had DSL support on this site only for customers of their own company's ISP, but not those of their partners, someone could have stirred up a hornet's nest, and we might have lost SBC participation in other parts of the site.
That was the rationale several years ago, anyway. Now, things seem to have changed. |

The original intent was to use this as a catch-all forum for those partner ISPs. Then the alphabet soup mess was created that spawned hundreds of tiny unmoderated forums for them. That left this forum pretty much unknown.
It was never meant to balance out SBC Direct (which can be used by any ASI customer), but rather to be a place where topics which would be off-topic in the SBCIS forums could be posted.
I guess it never really got off the ground, and probably isn't needed. -- Toolmaster of La Grange. |
