Re: [BT] Bit Torrent download stops my Internet HE

said by carpio :

Okay I'm checking my event viewer at different times and I notice that I get the TCP 4226 error only before 10-11pm. Is there an explanation for this?
You're getting the 4226 warnings errors in your event log only during the periods when you're out of TCP connections. If your PC and BitTorrent are not set up correctly you'll get those... but they'll come and go, that error doesn't scroll by 24x7.
Your guess is as good as mine regarding the time ranges when you get those... most likely due to coincidence or the timeframe when you start your BitTorrent.

Regardless of the timing, it's an abnormal (but easily corrected) condition. Just follow those steps listed in my initial post and you'll be rid of those 4226 errors.

thx for the suggestion ... I went ahead and just reformated and everything seems to be back to normal. In addition to this problem, I also experience some problems with my new seagate 300gb. Just so you know, WinXP doesnt recognize drives over 137GB without the SP2 and when I formated my OS drive, it wouldn't recognize my seagate storage drive. I had to use some date recovery prog to transfer all of the 250gb of data. Arghh!

I have been having the same problem using Azureus. I thought it may be a memory leak but I have 2gig of ram and it never goes above 50%. I tried the memory optomizer from tuneup utilities and it did not help. My computer slows way down and neither the CPU (3.4g) or the ram are over 50% utilized. It gets to the point that there is nothing being sent or received and none of the other computers can access the net.
I have a D-Link 624m and also had a 624 that I had the same issue with. I turned on loggin and do not see any issues there. Swapping routers was the first thing I tried
I also thought it may be a tweak that I might have done because I did not have the problem for a long time and then started having problems a couple of months ago. I rebuilt the computer a couple of weeks ago and even before I loaded anything besides XP SP2 I tried it and it shut down after a few hours.
It connects great for a few hours an then slows to a stop. I have gone through the Azureus wiki and all my settings are the recomended settings for my connection speed. 1500/384 advertised but actual 1280/284 from tests I have done on here. I have the settings 80% of what I got testing actual connjection speed.
I also tried running it on another computer and had the same issue. Once I reboot my pc and router all is fine again.
Yesterday I set the upstream to 10 and the down to 30 and it still did it.
I don't know what else to try.
Max Files Opened set to 50
Max Connections Per Torrent 50
Max Number Connections Globally 100

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i've heard switching clients solves some connectivity issues. Have you tried any other client besides Azureus? I recommend Utorrent: »www.utorrent.com/ .

Something that might help someone come up with an idea, Utorrent stops my internet connection almost all of the time, sometimes is crawls, sometimes stop completely. My internet connection on my laptop which is run through the same lynksys WAG354G Router via wireless card, is still running very fast. So i would recomend at least the majority of people do not need to go out and buy new modems or routers, as it looks like it will probably be a software issue on the main computer torrent is run from as if it was hardware related then why does my internet connection on my laptop still run fine?
