Verizon has really good coverage in my area but a year ago when I was looking to sign a new contract I found out the v710 through verizon was crippled before I signed a 2 yr. I went ahead and switched to Cingular and although their coverage isn't as good I can use any phone I want really and the phones they do offer are not crippled.
I personally will never use Verizon because of this. They simply don't want you putting your own pics or ringtones on the phone when they can charge you through their Get It Now crap...
