Its the technology unfortunately. DSL has limited range so they depend upon consumers in a 2.5 mile area. The technology is getting better and a lot of areas are having RTs deployed, but my area doesn't have one and it doesn't look good for me down the road so far.
You got that right. DSL is a joke unless you live close to the CO. I'm certainly not in the boonies but according to the phone company my line is 22000 feet away and therefore I can't get it.

Fortunately for me Comcast is available and works well. I would like to save money and would settle for slower speeds in exchange for a lower monthly fee but unfortunately since DSL isn't available to me I don't have that choice. I can't complain about Comcast though. The speeds are fast and getting faster.
