 | Eh, its probably due to Verizon They dropped the rate to be competitive. Verizon has been selling DSL for 14.95 for some time now. Its nothing new. The only difference is what company is selling. Granted the speed for 14.95 is garbage for anyone higher than a new user. I would not attempt to download much of anything on a 768 connection, which is Verizon's 14.95 plan.
I'm still using my 3.0Mb from Sprint, which is expensive, but I checked with the cable company to compare and they want me to spend 29.99 to activate the cable line for tv. The only way I would get cable internet is if I had cable to so that I'm getting my monies worth. But their bundle for regular basic cable would cost 42.95 a month. Keep in mind this only includes channels 1-64 or 65. That is every channel under digital. Now. Compare that to have Satellite tv and paying roughly the same price of 39.99 and you get many many more channels for the same price. Granted it is on a separate bill and I'd be keeping the DSL line, but you still get more for what you pay. Not only that, cable companies don't want their customers running any sort of server on their system. DSL is dedicated and encourages you to run servers. |
