4 edits | Did MSNBC.com get hacked? Ok, it was a long weekend for me and I worked a lot, and I'm half out of it today, but how come when I go to www.msnbc.com (redirect to www.msnbc.msn.com) I get a guy giving me the finger instead of the news?
What am I missing here? My company doesn't have the sense of humour to block webpages with something like this, so I doubt it's them with some sort of cute webfiltering.
I called my Dad and asked him to check it and his page loaded fine. |

| said by John2g:Works fine for me It's really weird. I'm trying to see if it's just inside my company here or not. Everyone here gets the animated icon, and you're the second person (outside of my company) that gets the normal page.
I wonder if my company all of a sudden got a sense of humor [to block webpages instead of using WebSense] but why do it to MSNBC. -- "When you get lost in your imaginatory vagueness, your forsight becomes a nimble vagrant."

1 edit | It was working fine for me as well all morning. I checked it at like 11:30 Eastern to read something, and went back at 12:15 to check something else and I'm getting that animated gif.
Edit: I did a Google search for "msnbc" and clicked on a link within MSNBC from the Google search, and it worked fine. Clicking on the MSNBC graphic at the top to bring me back to their homepage gives me the animated icon.

You know, I'm not even sure. We have a T1 with AT&T, and Lightpath is in there on some end, and I don't know if our NJ branch uses AT&T or not.
We have ~85 branches all over the U.S., and it's very "regionalized" so I'm sure infrastructure varies from region to region. I'll have to ask someone on the west coast to see what the deal is. -- "When you get lost in your imaginatory vagueness, your forsight becomes a nimble vagrant."

1 edit | I didn't get to try it, as I dropped to a command window and did ipconfig /flushdns -- worked right after that.
Sorry for the scare everyone; don't know what would change that, and the IT guys that are responsible for the LAN and WAN in this branch are unaware of changes.
I was almost positive this was not on my end. Thanks for all the helpful replies and confirmations. -- "When you get lost in your imaginatory vagueness, your forsight becomes a nimble vagrant."
