dentman42 : I started hearing the radio commercials in Columbus, OH on the 16th, advertising to go to "thenewatt.com/1499" - Which has come up 404 since they started advertising it!

I ordered (via www.sbc.com) on the 18th with an activation date of the 25th (express). My order due date showed the 24th, the automated voice confirmation said activation on the 26th. I received the install kit (4100) on Monday (23rd), and when I got home Tuesday there was a slip from a truck roll (mostly too light to be readable) that basically said "DSL good to NID". Modem found signal but couldn't sync until the last outlet I tried. It started at 832/384. I had a 5360 and 5100a I had gotten cheap and wanted to test - both worked ok using XP's PPPoE. Put the 4100 back on and got 640/384. Power cycled it and got downstream somewhere in the 700's. Power cycled again about 30 min later and it jumped back to 832/384. Wed. morning it was 640/384, but after a power cycle kicked to 1536/384, with s/n of 6 or 6.5. I'll run a new jack from the NID this weekend (it's too late and too cold when I get come from work to mess with connecting the modem at the NID...)

Just out of curiosity, has anyone verified how much the equipment rebate is for on this offer? Nowhere in the ordering process or in the documentation (including rebate card and sticker) does it specify the amount. I don't know if I'll get the 49.99 back or if they're pulling a fast one for the new 6 month terms!
