Of course rather than trying to be so anti-establishment you could just use the link from the front page of »www.star-force.com to take you to support and, shock, there's a link to the removal tool.

Take it you didn't notice that that site is actually offering discounts to people using Starforce protected products on another Starforce product, Safe'n'Sec. They're unlikely to be taking any legal action on a distribution partner.

While we're at it what about Safedisc or Securom? They use ring0. Or how about XProtector / Themida? Another one that has driver installs and uses Ring0.

Starforce has I believe been certified as not being a rootkit, and this chap appears to have copied verbatim from the boycott site, a lot of whose members are people who hate the product because it makes it difficult to play their warez. Starforce actively appear to try and resolve issues people are having with their products, and voluntarily provide uninstallers. Hardly the actions of 'malware'.

Not sure why Starforce gets this but other not dissimilar protections don't. Probably because it's not been cracked wholesale making it by default unpopular amongst certain people.

Please do send me a copy of the removal tool, incase Starforce sue themselves and remove it from their own website.

It's not removed generally because doing this companies would break other companies products. Same reason why the persistent bits of Securom and Safedisc remain.
