| DSL problems My Internet connection has been on and off for about a week. Most of the time off. I use MCI DSL that came with a speedstream 5100 modem. I'm not sure what type of connection it is exactly but I usually connect it to a router and just put on DHCP. But I did some trouble shooting, hooking up the modem strait to my computer and noticed that the lease times for my IP address were ridiculous, some times 5 minutes, sometimes 3 or 2. Most of the time its like 30 secs.
I confirmed it when I looked at the network connection details on windowsXP. Just for the heck of it pressing repair does not do anything. I also used my router to renew a lease( i don't know if i'm using the correct terminology) but I would still get the same results |
