Re: Does 888.com (Casino-On-Net) have spyware? Want to play on the online gambling sites get a spare hd and a hot swap bay. That way if/when yourcomp is totaly hosed by spyware you can ust reimage the small hd with the sacraficable os install on it. This way you dont have a ton of programs to reinstall or repair installs for and only takes 30 to 40 minutes to get the scrap os back up and running. Or you can multi boot the hd with a few copies of windows and boot from each in turn as they get hosed depending on how big your hd you use is. Nice 40 gig hd will get you about 5 windows xp installs or win2k or about 7 to 12 win 98 installs (depending on how much time you want to spend stripping 98 down)
This way who cares if those oses get fried by spyware you just boot from anothr copy heh. -- DSLR security chat at us.ausirc.net chanel #dslr_sec lets pack this channelopen source dns server for *nix and windows »powerdns.com |

| I might see if I can get a 40GB or 80GB drive real cheap somewhere, put a fresh XP Pro SP2 install on it and use that to run the 888.com app. I would, of course, unplug my main drive before I boot off of the drive I would use for the online casino.
Seems to be the best way to keep the malware crap off of my main drive, as long as I'm careful to not keep both drives plugged in at the same time. |

Well id buy a hot swap by they sell for around 45 on newegg last I checked. As for unplugging probably not realy all that neeeded. Not even sure if there is any spyware that will infect another hd/os install. Viri trojans etc sure thats possible. Still why take the chance? -- DSLR security chat at us.ausirc.net chanel #dslr_sec lets pack this channelopen source dns server for *nix and windows »powerdns.com |
