 | F5D7230 / F5D7231 max. concurrent connections 1) Does anyone have an authoritative answer for the maximum number of concurrent connections that the F5D723(0|1) can handle? 2) Is this a hardware of software limit?
I'm pushing my unit hard and it will do about 200 concurrent connections but not happily. The unit doesn't die but getting things through can be slow. If I lower the number of connections things clear up. |

 | This is a great question. I find that my 7230 has problems when I run BitTorrent for a while...every once in a while I'm forced to reboot the router because throughput just gets jammed to a standstill. Once I reboot the router, everything's fine. This only happens when I run BitTorrent and get a ton of connections going; normally, I never have to touch the router, it's great.
So I'd be curious to know as well.... Dave |

 | My F5D7231-4 is weird. It works fine with a desktop computer on it using Belkin 802.11b. However, if I use my Dell laptop with an Intel wireless LAN 2100 miniPCI card on it running heavy traffic (Bittorrent), it will lose connectivity after several hours (usually about 25 MBps upload and 100-200 MBps download). What's weird is that the laptop will stay connected to the router without problems, but all OTHER connections would be lost and cannot be used, even a desktop that is connected via the 100BaseT cable!?! What gives? The only solution would be to power cycle the router, then everything is peachy again. I read some feedback and am trying the disabling uPNP, but not sure if that causes it. |

 | reply to hwa9 yeah its a crap 23....
Azereus just doesn't work with this router.. I phoned up Belkin support and was told the max number of TCP/IP connections was 23 and the router should have Turbo Mode disabled.
I tried this, but with only 23 connections bitorrent is very limited, which sucks if you have a 6MB connection..
if you prove otherwise let me know the answer, as i have given up on the router. |

 | 23 is probably the number of machines that you can connect to the Belkin. You can definitely have more concurrent connections. Like I said, 150 works fine, 200 is getting troublesome. If this is a software limit we might have a chance with 3rd party firmware to get more out of this box. |
