Opinions on Loyola Marymount University

I was accepted to Loyola, and while I'm waiting on responses from the other colleges I applied to, I want to know more about what its really like.

I dont always believe what is on the sites of some of these colleges, because its all biased anyways, and I was looking for some honest feedback.

I want to go into film, and I know that Loyola has a good film program, but I dont know much about the campus.

Is there anything I should know about it before making my decisions? (I'm not going to say yes just yet, I have 4-5 other colleges I want to hear from too)

Thanks!

Yes, I've visited Ithaca college in NY, and the University of Denver here in Colorado.

What about USC film school? George Lucas seemed to do well after graduating.

I dunno much about UofD or their film school, but one thing nice about going there is that you wouldn't be too far from Sundance.

but you might be too close to home

I can see if I can maybe ask some Loyola film majors what they think of the program for ya.

USC was my first choice a couple years back, but its expensive, and its a BIG school. I dont want to go to a really big school, I kind of like the smaller campuses.

Hey fegul See Profile what do you want to do in the business ? if you want to make film perhaps the LA Film School might be a better choice to focus on the vocation with out all the college study,CalArts also has a nice film program.

Myself I got a two year degree with out all the matriculation,I focused on just cinema classes.

I have/had a friend(have lost contact with him) that went to Loyola and has been steadily employed first at CBS,then Fox,and since I last talked to him at Universal. He liked the school very much

One thing that you need to know and probably already do is that LA is very expensive to live.Loyola is located near Westchester pretty close to the beach. Most of the housing in the area is upper middle class but you could find apartments in nearby Culver City or the Palms area.

CalArts is located north of Los Angeles(30 minutes)

Film production and cinematography is what I mainly want to do. I'll take a peek at those colleges though
