| NetFlix on the Hot Seat?! Thought I'd pass this info along to all you NetFlix subscribers, in case it is news to you. Interesting CNN article about the company's woes.
I have had a gift subscription to NetFlix since January 1st. Christmas gift from my brother. At first, the turnaround was two days on the DVD's. Now it's a week. Apparently my 13 DVD rentals so far have already gotten me labeled as a heavy renter! My DVD's come out of Austin, TX and I only live an hour north of there. I know now it's not the US Postal Service's problem. In that short period of time, two DVD's shipped to me, per their screen, never arrived! I notified them and requested replacements. Emailed them re my concerns. Two pieces of lost mail for the same address in only 40 days is statistically HIGHLY unlikely! FYI, they freeze accounts if you report too many "never arrived" DVD's! Looks like they can do just about whatever they want to with their subscribers accounts!!!!!!!!!
Then my husband found this article yesterday on one of his favorite forums: Interesting. In future, Netflix could be looking at additional class action suits for deceptive advertising, at the very least, internet fraud at the very worst.

 | reply to buttoni Link doesn't work for me either.
However, I've been a member of NetFlix for almost 3 years. First in Sarasota FL, now in Austin TX.
When I lived in Sarasota, turn around time was about 3 days. (they went to the Tampa hub)
In Austin it is a consistent 2, with the only change being that the center in Austin doesn't process returns on Saturday like the Tampa center did.
I have had 3 discs lost in the past year, all at the same time, all mailed from the same box at my apartment. Netflix didn't give me any trouble at all about them, I reported them missing after a week, and they sent the next set of discs the next day.
Other than that one time, I've had no trouble what so ever with them. And to put your "heavy renter" status to question, I run through atleast 9 movies a week. (3 at a time plan) They come in, get "deposited" onto my server for later viewing, and go back out in the mail the same day. -- AMD X2 4800+ @2700Mhz/ MSI K8N Neo 4 Platinum SLI/ 2x 1024Mb Corsair XMS PC4000/ WD 74Gb Raptor/ PNY 7800GTs SLI/ Antec 550 True Control/Custom water cooler |
