 1 edit | Who should pay Well I feel that the backbone providers and the ISP have no right to demand or ask for more money because QoS for certain types of packets. They should work off a "best effort" system and that leads to competition between each market. If another ISP moves in with better speeds and/or better effort QoS customers will switch. The same goes for ISP's looking for a backbone.
Now I think if a content provider or ISP customer wants to request a guaranteed QoS they should have to pay for it. Lets say a gamer wants his connection prioritized for gaming he can pay his ISP extra for that service. The same if World of Warcraft wants it's incoming service prioritized they can pay for that. |
