They don't always use the same. An ISP may also have a version that is specific to them only.

The newest I have is: SB5100-2.3.4.6-SCM01-NOSH

Different firmware normally does not increase speeds, improve lag, etc. Firmware updates usually address issues that need to be corrected.

The issue is slow download speeds. Not every SB5100 with this version has a problem. It depends on many factors.

Modem firmware can not be acquired by anyone except an ISP. Your ISP is responsible for distributing modem firmware.
