???

This doesn't make any sense, why would a cable company pay some dork to run around a neighborhood picking up flyers? It would be a complete waste of money when the same people end up seeing verizons ads on TV and Radio, of which RCN can't touch.

It's most likely some retard that is doing it for his own reasons. (RCN employee or not)

I don't think they would. If this person actually even works for RCN I would be willing to bet he took it upon himself to do this and it was in no way the responsibility of RCN or a directive given to him by any management official of RCN.

One man's actions, regardless of who he works for, does not hold the entire company responsible for those actions. I know in this "blame someone else, make the ones with all the money pay, hold the higher ups responsible" society we live in may say otherwise. But unless the company encourages this action, the company should not be blamed for the stupidity of one (or even a few) of it's employees.

I did this as a kid once when a company annoyed the hell out of me and then started passing out flyers in my neighborhood.

Who knows what's true? Not very likely to be an offical RCN policy, but if true, probably representative of RCN allowing the idea that this type of behavior is cool. Corporate culture and all.

And no matter how many notices you mail, insert in a bill, drop off at the door, or ads you play on TV, people will still say they never heard of it.
