| The reason 25% of Arkansas cant get broadband... ....is because CenturyTel has 25% of the Arkansas market and those fuckers have a dirty monopoly on the areas they control. There are PLENTY of places in their territories that could be DSL ready, but they wont do it. I hope the new Alltel/Valor wireline venture buys their asses and shuts them down.
If you live in a CenturyHell area I really feel sorry for you. That is the worst telco EVAR!

I live in Benton and I qualify for cable internet from Comcast but they will not serve me due to the fact that Charter is too close to me so that is out and SBC will not give us DSL and the best dial up we can get is 24.4Kbs due to bad wiring in the neighborhood and I don't live in a cheap area. |

1 edit | One cable provider per county. You're in Saline. That's Charter's terrority. We should bitch to the county officials for a better cable provider that can provide high technology advancements to this county instead of letting one stink us up.
Or throw me few thousands and I'll go into building a WISP that'll take over the county.
BTW: Try getting Earthlink ADSL. You might qualify. That happened to me when SBC refused to provide me ADSL so I checked if I could get DSL from Earthlink. Now, I had it for a bit over a month and it sure beats dialup. |
