 | Non-Bridged Connection have static ip? Hi,
I currently have a bridged connection. If Snappy is no longer providing Bridged connection, does that mean that eventually I will be moved to regular dsl connection?
Very important to me... if I'm moved over to a regular non-bridged connection, can I still have a static IP???
Thanks, Nicholas |

 | reply to Tozaiwaylo Nicolas,
"Bridge connection " or a PPPoA or PPPoE only has to do with how you 'authenticate' to our system.
There is no technical correlation between the connection type and the Static (Fixed) IP or a Dynamic (Changing) IP.
Most of our Bridge Customers have had a Static IP (Fixed IP) and for those who have migrated to 3meg service or changed their service to Residential 1500, have kept their Static IP address, as long as it was (Static IP) part of the new package they choose.

 | reply to Tozaiwaylo Thank you for your follow up. That definitely helps me. Now the big question... Is it a good idea to move my current bridged service and use the 3meg service? My concern is lost of stability or consistency moving to the 3 meg service.

The move was 100% transparent as the change was done during the night and uses the same equipment. Tech support will make and walk you through the PPPoE change before the switch to 3 meg. |
