Does mean anything for Fort Smth?

I have complained I don't know how many times how bumfuzzled I am about how at the very center of the second most populated city of Arkansas we have such poor (if any) DSL service. I live within a rocks throw (literally) of the mall in Fort Smith and the best DSL speed I can get is 290 download and about 200 upload. I am this close (holding thumb and index finger .030" apart) to switching to Cox Cable for internest service.

you say that like you should be getting awesome speeds....what you need to learn is where the co's are and what the distance limits are of DSL.

I've already learned it and I know what the limits are. My question was if the fiber optic project going on in my area is going to affect me any. What SBC needs to learn is they are going to have one less customer that pays $200+ every month for phone and internet service if they don't install some new equipment in the near future.

Heck, I live 1 mile south of Little Rock city limits and can't get Comcast (300 yds south of me), Cox (1 mile north of me), but I can get Charter (They don't have HS Internet, but "Any day now" (They have been saying that for 7 years now)). So I have DW and while it is better than nothing, it sux.
