anon : I received my start up kit about the same time (I'm in Seattle) I've been trying unsuccessfully to get an internet connection ever since. As you indicated, it was tough to get the XyZel modem to pass all of its diagnotics. I've finally managed that - and it appears that all systems are "go". However, when I try to connect to the internet - I get a "remote computer is not answering". My experience with Earthlink support has been very frustrating. Lots of "we're experiencing system wide outages and can't take your call now". When I do get through, I frequently get the same "system outage" message from the off-shore technical support person. Any suggestions would be appreciate.
