I think I would pay for that, but I have not figured out how to have sex with a phone. The last time I did the Doctor at the emergency room laughed at me for having a phone stuck on my self. |

| I say screw the whole POTS AND VOIP thing, I just use my cell. I have way more minutes than I use, and I have rollover from Cingular so I get to keep my minutes that I don't use incase one month I have a lot of usage. My phone remains on my desk or charger because I also use a bluetooth headset so I'm im not injecting my head with cellular signals all the time Although I have thought of wearing a tinfoil hat just incase.... JK! :p:D:) |

 | reply to Cjaiceman This is an extremely risky proposition. Every time a disaster strikes (and this seems to be happening more often these days) the first service to go out is cellular. Don't expect to be able to use the cell phone when you really need it. VoIP/IM and especially POTS have proven much more reliable when a city is under 8 feet of water and mud, or when 110-story buildings are collapsing on 5 city blocks. We always pay dearly when we are cheap and ignorant.
Have you checked to see what Bluetooth radiation does to your brain and how it compares to "cellular" signals? |
|
 | wonder why they dont link cell with pots with the same number so cell and pots be include with the price of pots if one goes out you still have the other |
|
 | reply to verolom Actually, the 110 story buildings wiped out the POTS infrastructure for a pretty decent radius, seeing as the COs were below them. |

 | reply to Cjaiceman If it wasn't for kids and having to make cheap calls to Japan (my wife is from there) then I would just have a cell. We both have Cingular and I have 3500 rollover minutes saved up, which they would allow you to sell these back or something I have the 1000 min superhome plan and pay about $60 after tax thru my employers national discount of like 17% I can't find any cellular that's cheaper and my sunrocket calls to Japan are $10 a month for 200 min. 3 cents a minute after that. We were going to use Skype but its been awful to Japan. Never connects right. Oh well at least I tried, Same price anyway and I can use any phone in the house. Go sunrocket and cingular (Verizon was $10 more a month for the 700 min with no rollover) |

 | reply to russotto ...and about a week later there were disaster recovery trailers parked on the Jersey side plugged in and serving those customers. It is how the NYSE came to live so quickly. That was one of those rare moments when Verizon and AT&T collaborated and did almost the impossible, even though AT&T only lost one 5ESS in the World Financial Center due to overheating. The batteries and generators kicked in and did power the switch, however they did not power the AC and no one could get to it for a while. |
