| inistec.net just picked up a flyer for this place in lehi yesterday, there putting towers up all around forrest city AR, dunno how the service is supposed to have a guy out this weekend to make sure i can get a signal and see how strong it is (will ask him to use this site for a speed check) but at any rate this is the hardware there using :
airmatrix home - 2.4ghz 802.11b (basically a giant wifi card with an antennae sticking off the top of your house)
and airmatrix base towers
its $199 for the equipment and setup then 49/month for 512k (they say both ways) and 69/month for 1mbit (again both ways) the airmatrix company sells pcmcia cards with an antennae you can attach to the top of your car for roaming around...but i dont see that as being usefull.
but for someone that cant connect over 24.4 (when it isnt raining) 512k doesnt sound to bad. will post a report on how it is later i guess |
