It wasn't what I had setup in the 6100 DHCP address ranges.  They were all 192.168.1.x addresses.  ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1308999"><b>tr0910</b></A> : Finally its working.<br><br>Removing the Lingo adapter was what solved the problem.  The Lingo adapter was between the modem and the router, (where it was recommended to be), but it blocked any traffic going from the router to the modem.  I put it on an outbound Netgear router port and it's working fine there.<br><br>Shouldn't I still be able to access the Westell modem at its IP address (192.168.1.1)?  I set the DHCP server so all my computers now have IP addresses of 192.168.2.x  Pinging 192.168.1.1 gives some wierd info now almost like it has to reach the modem via China.... and I can't enter that address in a browser window to bring up the 6100 config pages.<br><br>thanks for the ideas...]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/280527"><b>NyQuil Kid</b></A> : Try the following:<br><br>1) Make sure that the Westell 6100 is indeed set to bridge mode &raquo;<A HREF="/faq/vz">Verizon Online DSL FAQ</A> &raquo;<A HREF="/faq/13600">How do I use a router with the Westell 6100?</A> - BE ABSOLUTELY sure you have read this FAQ thoroughly<br><br>2) Connect your PC directly to the Netgear and go to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 (whichever works) - if 1.1 works, you want to change it to 2.1<br><br>3) Enter the full username (regardless of what you see in the 6100) with the "@verizon.net" - even if the Westell 6100 didn't have it (I've always seen it with the verizon.net), using another router for PPPoE may require it.  Did you happen to run the Verizon DSL CD?  It may have reset the 6100 modem to a default setting....<br><br>4) Don't bother with MAC cloning - Verizon DSL doesn't use that nor requires it AFAIK<br><br>5) Remove the VOIP for now - you may have to reconfigure that later since you have changed the netgear to 192.168.2.1 and I presume the VOIP will be plugged into the Netgear<br><br>This procedure worked for me when I had to configure a 6100 with a D-Link 524 router.<br><br>[8F] The NyQuil Kid<br><SMALL>--<br>[8F] The NyQuil Kid comes into town not looking for trouble...<br>n00bz gang up, but he ain't seein' double,...<br>pulls and draws, his deagles two...<br>n00bz litter the ground you know it's true.</SMALL>]]></description>

At least that is what works in the 6100.  <br><br>The Account ID on the 6100 is a simple 8 character ID without the "verizon.net"  Why would it be different in the Netgear router?<br><br>Once I change the IP address in the 6100, I can no longer access it in any way shape or form.  No ping, NADA... I had to reset it to regain access.  Perhaps I need to change the IP address of the Netgear router instead??  Should it be set to 192.168.2.1 ???]]></description>

Also, just be absolutely sure about the password and that the 6100 modem is indeed in bridge mode. I just configured a Westell 6100 as a bridge to work with a D-Link 524 router. I believe that once my 6100 is in bridge mode, the DSL login will have to come from the Netgear router. <description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/1308999"><b>tr0910</b></A> : After lots of problems with a Westell 327W not being able to maintain a reliable connection, Verizon shipped me a Westell 6100 to replace it.  Since the 6100 is not a 4 port switch / wifi combo, I purchased a Netgear WGR614 v6 to get my connectivity back.  However, it won't play with the 6100 even after the 6100 is changed to bridge mode based on instructions here:<br><br>&raquo;<A HREF="http://members.verizon.net/~res08lyg/6100.htm" >members.verizon.net/~res08lyg/6100.htm</A><br><br>By itself the 6100 modem works fine at 192.168.1.1  I don't understand why my computers get IP addresses starting from 172.25.25.2 when the private lan config on the 6100 has a DHCP range from 192.168.1.15 through 192.168.1.47 but at least I can connect.
