 | Valid Question Why are we worried about what China is/is not doing? It's been pointed out that they're Communists - which, if you actually study them, they're not Communists but mere common socialists - and that they do not have a 'free society'. Ok. They don't. Neither does Myanmar, several of the -stan countries, many countries in Africa, a couple in Sudamerica, etc. What, should we now invade China to bring freedom and democracy to them as well? What about North Korea while we're at it? China can make laws stating that everyone needs to paint themselves purple with gold spots every alternate Wednesday. If they want what is essentially their special private internet, I don't have a problem with it. Their country; if they don't like it they can have a revolution, much like they did against the Western powers that screwed them up in the first place back in the 1800s and early 1900s. Oh. That's right. We forgot about Chiang Kai-shek and his dictatorship. Ooops! This is NON-NEWS. If we want to bitch about it, then let's get the tanks ready. Otherwise, we need to sit down, shrug, and let them continue their merry way. |
