| DSL is cheaper than cable here in Maryland I have Cavalier telephone DSL service and I pay just $25 bucks a month for a 10MBPS DSL connection I get around 8.5 MBPS connection consistently and get around a 1 mbps upstream connection.
I live just 2300 Line feet from the CO and so far I am saving big compared to when I was with Comcast 6Meg service and was paying $63 a month just for internet access with my own modem and without TV service. With Cavalier I pay just $75 including all the taxes for unlimited phone calls nationwide with a boat load of calling features and I get unlimited DSL service with the $75 a month price tag. I also have Direct TV and pay $115 a month for TV service in 4 rooms of the house with 2 DVR's 1 HD-DVR and Platinum package.
With Comcast I was paying $290 a month for 3 rooms with Digital 1 DVR and 1 HDTV and that included the internet.
Also with Verizon they only offer up to 3mbps for 29.95 on top of phone service and they are still ADSL with Cavalier I am ADSL2+ with Reach technology...So they can offer DSL even further from the CO than the ILEC. |
