It's an HP Proliant DL740 with 8x3.2Ghz/2M processors and 16GB RAM. As soon as I get home from this deployment, I plan on tossing BOINC onto it. I'm not sure if the optimized clients will work, but I'll try regardless. I can't wait to see what it does. My guess is (and I did this with SETI-Classic) that I'll run 16 instances (for hyperthreading).

Dream: 8x3.x dual core Xeon's ... I'll talk to my HP rep about getting an eval...if they have one yet. I've been so far out of reach on technology for the past 10 months, I have no idea what's out there anymore.

I Just bought a dell XPS and a 20 inch LCD. I got an e-mail about it but no pricing info gotta cost $6000+ because that one you've shown comes with a 30 inch LCD and 2 nVidia Gforce 7800 each one has a gig of ram and an over clocked Pent D 955 running about 5 GHz with 8g of PC8000 DDR2 Memory designed for over clocking. The monitor alone costs more than my whole system yet alone the memory and etc.

That Machine is not a dream it's miracle Seti machine it's RAC would be about 10k+ a day.

We all talk about RAC and work units done by us and others. We see or tell each other about our setups. If you had the money to spend or additional access to and were able use or buy and or build a dream wish system realistically what do you think it would be.
