(2)There was a write-up on the registry keys/files to look for in the post from CastleCops that was given on the second page of this thread. Or, you could have put the exact name of the supposed malware found into Google and found the same information yourself.
(3)I would guess that you could have looked to see what definitions version the trial copy of SpySweeper was using - if it was #632, that was the update that caused the problem. Some trial versions of programs don't have the capability to update unless you purchase them - I don't know if SS is that way or not because I don't use the program. If the trial of SS was capable of being updated before purchasing, then obviously you failed to do so - because the F/P was fixed on the very next update of that program (which occurred before you d/l'ed, installed and ran the trial version).
Truthfully, I really don't understand your post on a lot of levels (which I won't take the time to go into). I'll just say that I'm outta here, because the whole thing's starting to sound like a commercial for either UV+ or SS (I can't figure out which! ).
Try to enjoy your purchase, anyway. Just handle alerts more cautiously. And never buy software based on a "detection" of something by its' "trial" version.
Good night, everybody. Pete |
