This could work in a sense, if it acts as a QoS for a LAN. It would give priority to the gamer traffic, as opposed to your room mates bit torrent traffic.

You can have 1.5mb/384kb....but your gonna bottleneck the minute your upload is saturated, no matter what your download is.

But as a standalong version, I agree, it's impact would be minimal and easily duplicated by free programs such as Dr.TCP.

They're assuming the problem is on your LAN. That's not always true. There are some really bad servers out there that'll lag no matter what you do because they're run in some kids basement on a DSL or cable connection.

There's nothing you can do about that other than picking a new server to play on.
