Netopia with my own router....

Can some kind soul just tell me how I can just use the Netopia as a MODEM only like the old Cisco and use my own router?

I have tried everything and the stupid piece of crap Netopia still thinks its a good router!

I'm using a D-link 624 with no problems. I'll try to help. Have you had any success at all getting a connection without the D-link?

Yes the Netopia on 1 computer seems to work but my issues is I have wireless cameras and other devices that I access over the internet. I have tried everything from entering the pppoe password on the DLink like COvad suggested to factor reset to supposedly make teh Netopia a bride. THis is just madlness,

Once I got my Netopia up and running I simply went into my D-Link and changed the WAN IP from my MCI IP (64.36.34.162) to one of my new Covad IPs (74.244.XXX.XXX). My D-link is otherwise, exactly as it was before. IM me if you want to chat on AOL or Yahoo. I suspect that it will go faster that way.

the netopia is suppose to handle the pppoe auth, your dlink shouldn't need to do any ppp authentication. It should just know the gateway ip and subnet mask.
