ebay

I'm sure they could auction it there! Maybe they could sell it to some techs that could figure it out.

"We're selling. Sick of the headaches! Sick of the outages! 911 doesn't work. Hey, merge with Sunrocket!!!!!!"

outages

ironically, I've never experienced a service outage in relation to Vonage. There was a time when BellSouth upgraded their database in the switch and it screwed up my Vonage for about 7 days, but that was a BellSouth issue.

However, I bet they are tired of the headaches and the bad press on 911 service (although mine works, because I called it and got my local 911 dispatch).

It would be funny if they merged with Sunrocket and and became VonRocket or Sunage.

Re: ebay

That would be nice and maybe adopt some of their pricing. its taking me > 7 wks to transfer my number from vonage. At least i can use their line to call Japan for half the price of Vonage! Vonage lower you rates and I wouldn't have had to switch. Reliability is good for me and many other family/friends on various internet connections (Charter, Comcast, Verizon)

Ditto for me. Any outages I've had on my Vonage service were always the fault of my Comcast cable modem crapping out. (well, not the modem itself per se, but rather the service beyond the modem) Vonage itself has never had any problems for me...

911 & VoIP

the 911 services work well for some of you because you have enhanced e-911 service which means your local PSAP (the place that takes 911 calls) will accept those calls.

Some places do not have a PSAP that will take those calls (why exactly this is vonages fault that they wont take them is beyond me).

my 911 always works because I understand that if I have a power outage or my internet service goes dark, I have NO 911 at all... as a result I have a POTS line through my local ILEC that I can alway make calls on (as well as fax through... ever tried faxing with VoIP? not always a good experience). or I (more commonly) I use my Cell phone. I never would think to call 911 from my VoIP phone and my Kids have been taught which phone to use if they need to call 911.
This really should be a non-issue. Its the customers responsibility to make sure they can make 911 calls, not a VoIP providers. (but thats just my own opinion)

Yep..and thats why I keep my POTS line as well. VoIP has a LONG way to go to become my primary phone line. If fact, VoIP isn't an issue for the moment as I don't subscribe.
