Belkin F5D7230-4 and FTP problems

Though this has been discussed in a few previous forums, it bears mentioning:

Belkin recognizes a specific problem with their F5D7230-4 router when uploading via FTP. This is only on WinXP with sp2, and only over a PPPoE or PPTP connection.

The problem is a discrepancy in the MTU packet site, and can be resolved by changing your NIC's maximum packet size to 1000. This setting can be tricky to locate, so:

Google "F5D7230 ftp" and click the result from belkin's UK site (I couldn't find the solution on Belkin's US site). It has a further description of the problem, and a link and instructions to a small utility which can adjust your MTU packet size.

It worked perfectly for me. Good Luck.
