SpamAssassin takes a lot of work to keep up. Its better to block the spam at the source. DSPAM is the way to go if you go opensource. Its pretty badass. My email stats since the beginning of the year.

Yeah, hopefully the Spamhaus switchover will make some kind of dent in the relatively big spam-flood that makes it past the comcast mailservers.

I'm curious why they don't just go with SpamAssasin, which is like industry standard for spam filtering, plus, open source.

I've NEVER seen Comcast use anything but "big" name companies like Microsoft, McAfee, BrightMail (Symantec), etc. The fact that they FINALLY recognize that Spamhaus is THE final word for a blacklisting solution speaks volumes. Let's hope their cluefullness continues and will extend to implementing SpamAssassin for individual spam filtering.

Someone has finally gotten a clue that their implementation of the BrightMail anti-spam solution is NOT working. Note my emphasis on "their implementation", as I believe that the problem lies with Comcast, not with BrightMail.
