peter_m : No problem Ibanez7,

One more thing about Skype. I've researched it a bit more and you will need only one port, not three. If you look at the picture above you will see that in Skype's options you can choose a single port that can be used and it will work just fine. Remove the check mark from "Use port 80 and 443" and use only the one port you chose (mine is 9165). This way in port triggering page(in router) you will only use this one port you chose. It can be anything that is not used by something else.

The motivation behind this is that I am uncomfortable with port 80 becoming dedicated to the one PC using Skype. Port 80 is also used for sending web pages to your browser. When using skype with port 80, other PCs connected to the router might not be able to view web pages...

Also leave UPnP disabled. I wouldn't bother with it since the port triggering your setting up replaces UPnP's function.
peter_m : Well, if you used port forwarding (instead of triggering), keep in mind that the router will assign a different IP to the wired connection and then the wireless connection.
ibanez73 : Hello to all!!!
I hope i'm ok to post here if not please feel free to move in proper forum.I installed a linksys router WRT54G V5 on my brother's computer acer laptop (by telephone we live 500miles apart and he's a first time computer owner;so very green but doing the best he can...lol) I've set everything up by remote assistance through windows xp and have installed skype 2.0.0.97
to be able to communicate through web cam and/or just mic.All works excellent until we connect the router.I'm up to where i can connect through both remote and skype but after a few minutes it cuts out.Skype shuts down and remote assistance disconnects. After various phone calls to microsoft and to linksys i still have the same problem.I figure i have to open a port but which one.(windows firewall disactivated)I don't mind leaving remote assistance like that since i won't connect very often and this shows me the router is doing its job but i do want the skype to work properly in order to communicate.I use this with all my other contacts and its the best program for that.Like i said i just disconnect router and all is excellent. Is there a way to configure it and if yes how do i do it.Like i said i'm 500 miles away and am doing this by phone or through remote assistance when the router is out of the picture.Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
