Re: RTP300 firmware update RTP300-3-1-10.bin

This may be a stupid question, but how do I install the firmware update? I've read everything here and just can't figure that part out. Help please!

Ok, I had a heck of a time figuring this out, so here it is for all the not-so-tech folks out there who don't fluently speak this strange language here (no offense intended to all you guru's here, because the rest of us love you, we just don't always understand you!). Ready??!!
IMPORTANT, BEFORE DOING ANY OF THIS, MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE FIRMWARE VERSION FOUND IN THIS FORUM, UNZIP IT AND SAVE IT! RTP300-3-1-10.ZIP
1. Login to the RTP300 at »192.168.15.1 using admin for the user name and password
2. In internet explorer, go to tools, internet options, security, custom level, and scroll down to Active Scripting and click disable. Save and close.
3. Go to »192.168.15.1/upgrade.html
4. For username - user, for password - tivonpw.
5. Since you've already extracted the zip file with the firmware upgrade (you have already done this, right?), and saved it to a location you can find, just browse for the file and upgrade the firmware! Easy as pie!

Thanks to all the guru's out there who have gotten me and the rest of the tech wann-a-be's this far! You're awesome! Now if I can just get all the settings right to make this thing have a dial tone I'd throw a party! Let the real fun begin! Good luck to you all!

Thanks for the upgrade steps.. I am sure people will appreciate your work.

I would suggest using 1.00.62-NA firmware. It is stable. The 3.1.x firmware seems to have unstable voice functionality..

The -NA firmwares can be found here.

Can you go from the 3.1.x to the 1.00.62-NA?

Thanks for the thanks...I've started selling voip now, and I've learned what a pain Vonage can be when you want to leave! Not only do they lock the ATA, but I was unaware that If I didn't stay for one year I pay an additional $40 cancellation! As far as I'm concerned, Vonage is not the way to go...too many better options out there, probably even some better than mine. At least we don't lock the ATA. So anything I can do to help ex vonage customers is my pleasure.

Re: [Vonage] SIP credentials, RTP300, GPP_K?

I have been using 1.00.62-NA on the RTP300 and am having some issues

1) I have to press # after dialing my number before it even tries my Asterisk server, this started after the upgrade from the old 3.1.10 firmware

2) It seems my Line 1 will not properly connect and stay connected, after a while it says "Proceeding" in the status page, even after it has previously connected....

This TA connects locally to my asterisk server, the config for line 1 and line 2 are the same, except user/pass/callerid...

wrt 1.00.62 firmware Termination digit

I upgraded my wrtp54g with the 1.00.62-NA firmware provided in this thread. I then hooked up this with my asterisk server and I can make calls fine now. But all my calls require me to enter a termination digit '#'. Also I am not sure how to read the Digit Map. I would appreciate if someone can provide any insight into how to modify these so that I dont have to enter a termination digit. Here are my settings.

Digit Map: *xxT|*1xx|[349]11|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxT|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011x.T

Termination Digit:#
Partial Digit Timer:16 secs
Critical Digit Timer:4 secs
Dial Timeout:30 secs

Also I see no Voice profiles. If that ok? I would like to use g729a as my codec but the Voice Coding Profile : PCMU
I am not sure if that 'PCMU' profile includes g729a.

Please help....

I don't know what a T is, I suspect it is the termination digit. BTW, the default Linksys interdigit timers are typically 3 and 10, not 4 and 16. Have you actually waited 16 seconds after putting in the last digit to make sure that you really have to dial a # to complete the number?

If you don't care about the * codes and use a service provider using NANP, this dial plan will probably work for you:

1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx|011x.T

dialing the first 1 is kind of a waste in this plan, so unless you're used to dialing all the "domestic" numbers through 1 I would suggest to try:

[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx|011x.T

In both instances you will need to dial a # to dial "international" calls. You may also want to try putting an S0 in front of the |. In other Linksys boxes that reduces the interdigit timer locally to 0 meaning that the call is placed immediately after dialing the last didit preceeding the S0. This will only affect dialing "domestic" numbers.

You can prepend the dial plan with:

*xxT|*1xx|

to enable using star codes like *12# or *123.

The WRTP54G and the WRT54G are two different routers with substantially different although perhaps somewhat similar firmware, but substantially different functionality.

Thanks very much for your input. I think I can change the Digit Map and see if that helps. Also I did wait for 16 secs and I get a slow busy signal and the call does not go through. So a Termination Digit is required for Long Distance.

Do you know if the PCMU profile includes the g729? If not what profile would I need to use to enable g729a. And if I need to create a new profile how do I do it?(I am assuming that not gonna be easy).
Thanks again for your help.

I think I just used the standard Linksys dial plan on an RT300, but I was walking someone through the steps so I have no idea how the interface looks and I wasn't aware of the termination digit setting. A simple plan, if configured for use for NANP dialing would look like this:

([2-9]|*xx|[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|011[2-9]xxxxxxxxx.)

If you use FWD I think you need to rewrite the numbers add some asterisk madness. In general the numbering/renumbering schemes of many VoIP providers are a cluster f@(& that should be standardized ASAP.

As far as codecs, check the Line 1 and Line 2 tabs in advanced administrator mode to select which are available and which should be the default.

Ok... so I had already installed 3.1.10 on my RTP300. Now I wanted to try the 1.0.0.62-NA firmware.

unfortunately user/tivonpw isn't working for the password for firmware upgrades. Anyone know what it gets changed to?

Doh.. it was Admin/..

Re: wrt 1.00.62 firmware Termination digit

I have the same setting as you, but I don't have this dialing problem.
I read some threads said that the "T" is waiting 4 seconds to send out the number you dial.

My problem is I need to dial US number with 1, if I don't dial 1, it can't go through.
I want to make a dialplan that can let me dial US number without dialing 1 or dial US local number without dialing 1 and area code,
like:
<:1>[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx|<:1212>[2-9]xxxxxx

but it can't work for me.
Someone has any ideal for this?

For the dialplan that has "S0", it can't work at my wrtp54g.

Unlocking Linksys PAP v2 FW 1.00.13

Hi,

Im trying to unlock a Linksys Pap2 V2 adapter. Based on this thread, Im getting a feeling that it can be unlocked like the RTP300.

I downloaded the ti0000000.xml from ti.tftp.vonage.net.

I could not get the provision key based on the suggestion given(disabling java script...and going to the specified url). I did get the source for the html page as suggested. but it did not have the key.

Few of you did decrypt the ti000.xml without a rc4 key. You mentioned that you used a default key. Im not sure what default key should I use. The compiled rc4.c requires a key and Im not sure what to enter in that.

Any suggestions?

I posted a response in another thread that includes how to unlock the RTP300 and/or WRTP54g devices..

Take a look at: »[ViaTalk] RTP300 1.0.0.62-NA firmware with Viatalk

and look for my post.

Let us know if this does not make it easier..

That doesn't work most likely because the match is ambiguous after the 7th digit, i.e. a shift/reduce conflict. Let me explain, you put in the first 7 digits where the 4th digit is 2-9 and then the parser finds a match, the dillema is whether to shift (i.e. wait for another digit or for expiration of the timer) or reduce (i.e. prepend the number with 1212). In theory the developers at Linksys/Sipura could have - probably should have based on the documentation for PAP2 and RT31P2 - handled it by a shift, but since it doesn't work for you it appears that they decided no to do so, but rather to return an error.

I thought I ran into this behavior in another context where I thought that e.g. 1900! barred the user from dialing a 900 number although it should have waited for additional digits to make that decision. If in fact it worked (I need to verify now), it is a somewhat useful bug because it shortens the length of the dial plan in some instances.

One way to "fix" it would be to determine whether your provider requires you to start long distance numbers with a 1. If not then you can input the 1 by yourself for long distance (afterall it is only 1 extra digit), but have the system prepend the area code when there is no 1 at the beginning, for the local area codes. Thus, the dial plan would be:

(1[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxx)

If you can post a reference to the meaning of "T" I will be grateful.

Thanks!

The T means "wait 4 seconds to timeout"
Now, what does this mean? Does it mean it is a 4 second pause or is it some interdigit timer? Can someone test it experimentally? I don't have an RTP300 around me.

On the Sipura/Linksys a 'P' followed by a digit and a space is a pause AFAIR.
