Re: verclsid.exe Probably too late but see my post here in the MS Update Bulletin thread that this file is creating havoc with Paint Shop Pro X (and probably other programs--that's just the one I know of), causing it to hang on opening.
I have emailed MS using the link Crystal Sky supplied above; it says they'll respond within a day.
See why I usually wait until at least Friday after Patch Tuesday? |

 | I had the same issue with verclsid which cause hangs while browsing for documents with and office 2k app, renamed verclsid.exe to .old killed any running copies of it and hey presto everything works fine. |

 | reply to altermatt Hey,
Your now alone with the right click hang symtom of MS's new security feature. Frankly its quite annoying and seams rushed on their part, but im sure, they'll release another update to rectify it soon. I tried renaming the file to .old. That seemed to do it, until a reboot was required. |

Mine has held steady since renaming it on the 12th and I reboot daily. -- "Be simple, be earnest and spread that simplicity throughout everything you do." |

 | reply to altermatt Could this be an early part of MS's move to Trusted Computing, so they can verify that only parts (COM objects) approved by them can be executed to play Digital Media? |

 | reply to altermatt You can remove verclsid.exe it is part of the ms update 908531 released on the 10th. Go to add/remove programs, click show updates then remove 908531 in the list, it will stop your freezes and hangups. |
