Bah...

If Cable dies on the vine (or Pole LOL), someone will buy them up and make it competitive.

It used to be you got a great bang for your buck with cable. Now with fiber in my area, cable is a joke. Cable sat on its laurels and now will pay.

When phone becomes serious about deploying fiber to their entire service areas, then I would care about fiber. Since fiber's rollout will be slow and long to come, it's not a threat to any other service including both cable and satellite.

Even when they do pick a city to roll out, they are only doing so in spotty launches anyway.

Slow deployments can be bad as well. It gives your competition time to bolster it's hold in a market.
