Re: Elite Speed? If you ever had expert plus in the past for 44.99 you're more likely to be upgraded then those who haven't even thought you distance is a little off. I did.
It is hell everytime I downgrade from 6.0 and want to go back since the upgrade has to be done manually. This is a new subdivision I move in since april 2003. We have others whose distance measurement are good but can't even sync at 3.0. This probably has to do with how strong your line signal is rather distance that they call distance check so it is not very accurate. Can disqualify some who may be able to sync at 6.0 and get stable connection.
I had problems with 2wire modem at 6.0 lots of disconnect but speedstream 5100a and 5100b is fine. Does anyone have this problems as well?

Well actually I did get through to an agent, but I still wasted my time. She said that Elite wasn't available in my area and then she tried to rerate my Pro and sell me International LD service for $3.99 a month. |

Work is moving me in a few months (found out a couple weeks ago), wonder if upgrading to this on a month to month plan will get me out of my 6 month contract I just did a month or so ago.

the elite speed is not new its just a speed that we had before but didn't proactivley offer, it is 3.0 to 6.0 mbs but you do have to be with in a certain distince from the central office or if you have an remote terminal in your area. the price is 29.99 for 1 year and you dont have to have any features to qualify for it.

I called this morning. They were unable to tell me how far I am from the CO. They also said that Elite is not available to me at this time. I was told that I could get the Pro plan, but I don't want to upgrade to it and turn around and update to Elite. I told them I would call back in a few weeks.
