| Fast but... I've found that 80% of the sites I go to, don't offer that much after a certain load time. So you are lucky if you get over 300Kb/s from them.
I did some updates from M$ and was seeing speed greater than 4Mb/s. Not bad MS.
Seems only the big fellas have the bandwidth to serve. And since everyone now is getting faster, isn't all relative? |

For now its more of a brags rights then a necessity. You have it cool but you won't be able to fully utilized until there is lots more bandwidth available on the net. |

I will still use my maximum speed because I will just download another file at the same time or as many as i need to to maximum my download speed with what i want to download. -- Thank God i am not getting married, having kids, going on a date, etc! For example, a single computer could be downloading a movie, uploading the family photo album, and watching (streaming) music videos. Multiple computers doing equally bandwidth intensive activities could utilize all that bandwidth. |

You have it cool but you won't be able to fully utilized until there is lots more bandwidth available on the net. I have FiOS 30/5. While having all of that bandwidth is not a necessity, I do use all of my download bandwidth at times through the use of multiple managed downloads. I can queue up 200 files and down them 6 or 8 at a time to use up all of my available bandwidth - until they are done. 30 down makes for short work of even large numbers of large files if you know what you're doing. There are some sites that will use all of the bandwidth with one file. Sites with that kind of upload bandwidth will only increase as time goes by.
The other major advantage of FiOS is the seriously low latency. I don't believe any non-fiber provider can compete in that department. I get pings in the 3-12ms range to game servers. That's not a fluke, that's the average.

 | True that. I wonder when the bells are going to catch up? 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? 6 years and we have only begun to see some increase in internet connection. Not great but progressing slowly. |
