people at my college need to calm down

well, 9am im setting up a linux VPN server.
950am, the server needed an update, so i started to update.
10am, i started to rpm -ivh all i needed
1010am, i went to my windows server for a sec, turned around and this guy had come in and started to get pissed off because he couldnt sit at the other computer i was using (the linux) so he proceded to power down my linux...i was like WTF dude, there is 35 computers here and only 12 students.
1115am, class started, and i had to start over, he managed to shut the linux server down at a critical time and i was forced to reinstall the damn thing because he threw a hissy fit.

so, has anyone else ever had an incident like this before?

Hm, not had anything like that, but at the same time i don't know if i understand what you were doing. Was this for a class or your personal computer.
Plus as far as I have seen unless someone is a CS major they are dumbfounded by linux especially if you don't have an X server running. Might as well be a physical access firewall around here, lol.
