DareiusIt's a beautiful day in the neighborhoodPremium join:2002-11-12 Elmhurst, NY | The mighty have fallen..... I remember in the late 90's when I asked someone what company they used for the internet and the reply was AOL. He felt they were really good for his needs and also thought they were around so long, they invented the internet. LOL!
Sadly, quite a few people I met going through the transition from handwriting data to technological communication summed up AOL as the one and only means for internet access. Those same people were getting ripped off for nearly double the price of standard dial up access. Back then I was an Earthlink customer. I was happy with Earthlink due to them being an ISP and that was that. Give me my dial up number and account and leave me be. No installations required that rewrites the Windows 9x OS, etc.
Now we are in the Broadband age and prices are as low as $15 for continuos access 24/7. Personally, I am glad to see AOL burning like they are and hope they crash completely. I hope to see them go out of business for pretty much all the headaches I used to get having to repair and or reformat friends PC's that used their crap software that slowed access down to a crawl.
Good to see internet users have learned that there is more to the internet than AOL.
Crash and burn AOL! You are a cancer. |
