IP is going to be used by over a primary system, mostly softswtiches, that don't rely on the Net for QOS, which will prevail true VOIP.
Video phones, I guess he forgot, has been in the works at Bell Labs for 20 years+. VOIP now makes it possible.
Skpe, due to negative publicity, isn't going anywhere further than techies, period.
Most people just want cheaper phone service, but not the hassle of installing it (they call it KISS).
He also is forgetting how cheap cell minutes will be in 10 years. I see that going triple by then if not sooner making his entire argument worthless. |
