This will benefit consumers only if...

Players are competing on as level a playing field as possible. Does this franchise agreement provide such a playing field?

Verizon obviously agrees, comcast doesn't. We are back at the starting point. NJ customers should take a look at the franchise agreement and make their judgements.

See, the reason that the cable companies don't like it, is because it's competition. Cablevision has attempted to squash anything that comes in it's path. They don't want competition, period, and that's not a level playing field. They began to feel some competition when satellite was allowed to carry the local channels (the cable companies lobbied against that too!!, again, they don't like competition), and I am very happy with my directv, and I am glad that someone else can come in town, and not let them sit back like they are the only choice in town.

That sounds like Verizons attitude for voice, I dont like this ruling because there is no built requiremnets, so the people of south jersey will get no benefit.
