Your information is outdated. Back then, Connecticut was the most affluent state in the country. In 2005 NJ passed CT.

Well, that I have to do more digging, but look at the stats, NJ is the most affluent state in the most affluent country in the world. I probably have to see if NJ has some census data on a county basis.

The closest data I can find is from 2002, which puts it 3rd.

Yep. mbernste 's claim to most affluent in the USA stands (at least until we get 2006 census data). I'm going to hunt down some stats on Switzerland now.

Yeah, and Somserset was compared to Howard County, MD. Too bad I live in Middlesex County (but I do my food shopping in Somerset). See? I don't make these things up, I'm just not able to find the stuff as quickly as others on the Internet.
