I'm glad this was approved. In my opinion the video franchise laws were outdated and assumed that there would only be one video provider in a community. The local communities are guilty for abusing this old system too; demanding 'extras' before agreeing to a franchise agreement. I can't see why Verizon (or anyone else) would want to negotiate with each town. The state franchise will give the towns a flat fee; which they can spend on any ridiculous thing they want. |

Denville, NJ | I would hope not; I already have FIOS. I'm just waiting for them to offer TV service. If was in an area that wasn't on any list for FIOS deployment I might agree with you. |
