Re: wpnt834 with intel 3945 wireless card problems The dell 1390 is a B/G card only. The 1490 is A/B/G just like the Intel 3945. I'm not sure exactly what differences there are between the 1490 and 3945 but I'd imagine at most the 3945 may have some more advanced settings and possibly better power management. Maily one is an Intel chipset while the Dell is Broadcom. I haven't used a 3945 but my Dell 1490 works perfect for me. I turned the laptop on and put in my wep key and it was communicating with my access points fine. I haven't had it drop connection on me yet. |

2 edits | I was checking out this webpage and it says the difference is that the 1490 is 2.4ghz while the 3945 is 2.4ghz and 5ghz..
check out this link as it gives you all the specs on the wireless cards - »www.dell.com/content/learnmore/l···=details |

 | The dell page is wrong. 1490 IS dual band which supports the 802.11b/g band at 2.4GHz and 802.11a which is 5GHz. |

 | reply to ImpetusEra i really want to be able to use my 3945 card with this router but netgear hasnt released no freakin firmware update for it ! |

 | I disabled QoS in general properties of the 3945, where it has the client for microsoft network blabla. Not in the adhoc QoS. It solved my problem of continuous router reboots. |
