The film industry and the MPAA are not the people who should be doing it. I am positive that Captain Copyright will not teach fair use and will not tell them that making backup copies for personal use is legal. Kids also need to know that if the buy a CD from wally world that it is legal to rip it and copy it to their Ipod as long as they do share it. It would be like Enron teaching kids about corporate ethics -- Yes, its stuck in a windows this time. |

HMS1 join:2006-01-14 Austin, TX | Thanks for a serious post in an otherwise mocking thread. I mean, this plan certainly deserves mocking, but also more thoughtful comment.
It's political indoctrination, not education. Education would mean telling kids what copyright law currently is, and the fact that there are criticisms of it, and what the arguments are on both sides.
Letting a private industry propagandize children in favor of an ideology crafted according to profit motive - or laws based on that industry's lobbying - is something no school system should ever even consider and no government should allow. Geist is right, it is a new low. |

Especially since many of those same elementary school teachers are busy loading up their iPods with illegally downloaded music. -- -- Join Red Room Forum BLOG tkjunkmail.blogspot.com My Web Page |

Geist is right, it is a new low. Sadly, this is not the first time private industry has introduced propaganda to the public school systems. Channel One is one good example (»en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_One_News). We had it in my school and it is loaded with ads, sided news info, and so on... -- Bring back chicken and potato chips - Vote Perot! |

Where I work I would say at least half of the teachers are Conservative Republicans. Since West Michigan leans to the conservative side teacher would not be allow to teach liberal ideas without getting in trouble. Most of our teachers do their best to be neutral in the classroom. It is easy to make comments like that if you have never been in a school and actually listened to what they are saying. And yes I believe if a teacher is show either a left of right wing view in the classroom they should be removed. -- Yes, its stuck in a windows this time. |

The use of a monetary system controlled by the few is slavery. Money is not real... ink, paper and cloth is all its needed to fool people like us that it has value like CC... Why do you want your life controlled by a corporation who's motive is to keep us as a dependent indefinitely. The world we live in is an illusion created by those who want to keep us all ignorant... the less we know the better. the more we are fooled the better their gains. don't you see we are being fleeched? |

I don't try to get A instead I try to get F to show that teachers suck and we would better off learning ourselves. Remember success = failure. Failure= success. Why I say this? the world is backward. Don't get it? heh. I learned more from the internet then I do from school. I ain'tlearning shit from. and it was boring as well. It's dumbing people so it doesn't teach you how to think but how to be obedient and don't argue with a leader utter bs. I'm not gifted or anything that sort of but I sure as hell not dumb or stupid. neither smart or intelligent just wise and paitence is all.
Thanks for reading this. you are now more wiser after reading it.
